Home Depot's fiscal year is a 52- or 53-week period that ends on the Sunday nearest to 31 January, according to its 10-K.[7] FY2024, the year ended 2 Feb 2025, was the 53-week year.[7] The 10-K for that year says the 53rd week added approximately USD 2.5 billion of net sales.[7] That extra week sits in Q4 FY2024, whose revenue of USD 39.7 billion was up 14.1% year on year.

The Financials page footnotes the length of both quarters beside the revenue row. A decline in a 13-week quarter set against a 14-week one is therefore not a like-for-like change. Our guide on how to read a 10-K explains where a filing states the number of weeks in its fiscal year.

Quarterly operating margin, our calculation, was 10.1% in Q4 FY2025 and 14.3% in Q2 FY2026. The full quarterly income statement, from cost of revenue to net income, is on the Home Depot financial statements page.

How did Home Depot's net debt change after the SRS acquisition?

Home Depot's net debt was USD 46.6 billion at 2 Aug 2026, our calculation. A year earlier, at 3 Aug 2025, it was USD 49.5 billion. At 2 Aug 2026, total debt was USD 48.6 billion and cash and short-term investments were USD 2.1 billion.

Home Depot completed the acquisition of SRS on 18 Jun 2024.[7] Its 10-K for FY2024 puts the cash purchase consideration at USD 17.7 billion.[7] The company says it funded the deal with commercial paper and long-term debt, including USD 10.0 billion of senior notes issued in June 2024.[7]

The five quarters on this page start after that deal. Net debt rose to USD 51.1 billion at Q3 FY2025, then fell in each of the next 3 quarters. Its 10-K for FY2025 says Home Depot used approximately USD 2.0 billion of commercial paper, with cash on hand, to fund the GMS acquisition on 4 Sep 2025.[3] It repaid that commercial paper with USD 2.0 billion of senior notes issued in September 2025.[3]

The Q2 FY2026 10-Q reports USD 4.2 billion of commercial paper outstanding at 2 Aug 2026.[1] It also says Home Depot repaid USD 2.8 billion of senior notes at maturity in the first six months of FY2026.[1] Net debt to EBITDA, our calculation, was 1.8× at 2 Aug 2026. The median of Home Depot's own FY2021 to FY2025 values was 1.6×, within a range of 1.4× to 2.0×.

Has Home Depot repurchased shares since the SRS acquisition?

Home Depot made no share repurchases in FY2025, the year ended 1 Feb 2026, after USD 649 million in FY2024 and USD 7,951 million in FY2023. It paid dividends of USD 9,152 million in FY2025. Its free cash flow, our calculation, was USD 12,646 million.

  • D Free cash flow = cash from operations minus capital expenditure.

Totals may not add up because of rounding.

Home Depot's 10-Q for Q2 FY2026 says it paused share repurchases in March 2024 and had not resumed them at 2 Aug 2026.[1] Of the USD 15.0 billion authorisation, approximately USD 11.7 billion remained available.[1] Buybacks were USD 14,809 million in FY2021 and USD 6,696 million in FY2022.

Free cash flow, our calculation, was larger than dividends paid in each of the 5 years from FY2021 to FY2025. Dividends paid rose every year, from USD 6,985 million in FY2021. Cash from operations was USD 16,325 million in FY2025, and capital expenditure of USD 3,679 million has risen each year since FY2021.

Calculations
TTM = sum of the last 4 quarters. Q4 = fiscal year minus the nine-month YTD. Margins = line item ÷ revenue. FCF = cash from operations − capital expenditure. EBITDA = operating income + depreciation and amortisation (our calculation). Net debt = total debt − cash and short-term investments. CAGR = compound annual growth over three fiscal years.
Restatements
None in the periods shown.
Comparator
Each profile row compares the current value with Home Depot's own last five fiscal years, FY2021 to FY2025: the median of those five years and their range, from the lowest to the highest. A current value outside that range is drawn just past the end of the strip. Fewer than 5 covered peers exist, so there is no sector median yet.
