What the numbers show

ExxonMobil's income statement for Q2 2026, the quarter ended 30 Jun 2026, shows revenue of USD 116 billion, up 42.3% on Q2 2025, our calculation, and net income of USD 14.5 billion. That is a net margin of 12.5%, our calculation, against 4.9% in Q1 2026, when net income was USD 4.18 billion on revenue of USD 85.1 billion.

Annual revenue was USD 332 billion in FY2025 against USD 286 billion in FY2021, a compound annual growth rate of 3.9%. It reached USD 414 billion in FY2022 and fell 16.7% in FY2023, our calculations. Net income went from USD 23.0 billion in FY2021 to USD 55.7 billion in FY2022 and USD 28.8 billion in FY2025, a net margin of 13.5% in FY2022 and 8.7% in FY2025, our calculation. The filings behind these tables come from two SEC registrants: Exxon Mobil Corporation up to the Q1 2026 10-Q, and ExxonMobil Holdings Corporation, the parent from 1 Jul 2026, for the Q2 2026 10-Q.

On the balance sheet, total assets were USD 464 billion at 30 Jun 2026, up from USD 449 billion at 31 Dec 2025 and USD 339 billion at 31 Dec 2021. Receivables rose from USD 35.7 billion at 31 Dec 2025 to USD 60.6 billion at 30 Jun 2026, and current assets of USD 101 billion exceeded current liabilities of USD 88.8 billion. Equity was USD 259 billion.

Total debt, the sum of short-term and long-term debt, was USD 42.4 billion at 30 Jun 2026, down from USD 47.7 billion at 31 Mar 2026 and USD 43.5 billion at 31 Dec 2025. Cash and short-term investments were USD 10.6 billion, so net debt was USD 31.8 billion, our calculation, against USD 39.2 billion at 31 Mar 2026. At year-ends, net debt was USD 40.9 billion in FY2021, USD 10.0 billion in FY2023 and USD 32.9 billion in FY2025, our calculation.

ExxonMobil's cash flow statement shows cash from operations of USD 23.6 billion in Q2 2026 and USD 8.71 billion in Q1 2026, with capital expenditure of USD 6.53 billion and USD 6.47 billion. Free cash flow, our calculation, was USD 17.0 billion in Q2 2026 and USD 2.24 billion in Q1. A 10-Q reports cash flows year to date, so the Q2 cells marked D are our derivation, the six months less Q1. Over the 4 quarters to 30 Jun 2026, free cash flow was USD 30.6 billion, against USD 23.6 billion for FY2025.

Diluted EPS was USD 3.48 per share in Q2 2026 and USD 1.00 per share in Q1 2026. For FY2025 it was USD 6.70 per share, against USD 13.26 per share in FY2022, and over FY2021 to FY2025 it grew 5.6% a year, our calculation. The diluted share count was 4,174 million shares in Q2 2026 against 4,331 million shares in Q2 2025; a footnote marks these cells as taken from a nearby concept the company reports. ExxonMobil stock fundamentals covers the share buybacks and the capital return.
