- D Free cash flow = cash from operations minus capital expenditure.
Totals may not add up because of rounding.
Oracle's FY2026 10-K says it has expanded the Oracle Cloud by increasing existing data centre capacity and adding data centres in new geographic locations.[2] Capital expenditure was USD 6.87 billion in FY2024, when free cash flow was USD 11.8 billion. Free cash flow turned negative in FY2025, at USD 394 million, the first outflow in the 5 fiscal years from FY2022. Cash from operations rose every year from FY2022 to FY2026, but in FY2025 and FY2026 it was below capital expenditure.
Oracle's dividends paid rose every year, from USD 3.46 billion in FY2022 to USD 5.79 billion in FY2026. The FY2026 amount is dividends paid to stockholders (common and preferred).[2] Buybacks fell every year, from USD 16.2 billion in FY2022 to USD 95 million in FY2026. With free cash flow negative in FY2025 and FY2026, FCF cover, which compares free cash flow with dividends paid, is not meaningful for either year.

- D Cash and cash equivalents plus the short-term investments, current marketable securities or current debt securities the filing tags, from the same filing.
- D Total debt = short-term debt + long-term debt, from the same filing.
- D Net debt = total debt minus cash and short-term investments; a negative value is net cash.
Total debt rose from USD 91.3 billion at 31 Aug 2025 to USD 135 billion at 28 Feb 2026. Over the same 2 quarters, cash and short-term investments went from USD 11.0 billion to USD 39.1 billion. Both are our sums of lines tagged in each 10-Q or 10-K, so they carry the D marker, as net debt does. How we calculate net debt lists the lines behind each.
Oracle's cash flow statement for Q1 FY2027 lists USD 19,909 million of proceeds from issuances of common stock via an at-the-market program, net of issuance costs.[1] The same statement lists USD 4,202 million of repayments of senior notes, term loan credit agreements and other borrowings.[1]
By our calculation, net debt to EBITDA for the TTM to 31 Aug 2026 was 2.6×. In the 5 fiscal years from FY2022 to FY2026 it ranged from 3.3× to 4.2×, with a median of 3.5×.
How we got these numbers
Every figure comes from Oracle's Forms 10-Q and 10-K as filed with the SEC. Derived values are marked D and explained below.
Full method for this page
- Source documents
- Forms 10-Q (Q2 FY2024 to Q1 FY2027) and 10-K (FY2019 to FY2026)
- Period covered
- 8 quarters and 5 fiscal years
- Calculations
- TTM = sum of the last 4 quarters. Q4 = fiscal year minus the nine-month YTD. Margins = line item ÷ revenue. FCF = cash from operations − capital expenditure. EBITDA = operating income + depreciation and amortisation (our calculation). Net debt = total debt − cash and short-term investments. CAGR = compound annual growth over three fiscal years.
- Restatements
- None in the periods shown.
- Comparator
- Each profile row compares the current value with Oracle's own last five fiscal years, FY2022 to FY2026: the median of those five years and their range, from the lowest to the highest. A current value outside that range is drawn just past the end of the strip. Fewer than 5 covered peers exist, so there is no sector median yet.
- Currency
- As reported (USD); no FX conversion.
